Director of Volleyball Operations

JAMIE CALANDRO

A Sandy Hook, Connecticut native, Jamie’s love for volleyball started at Nova nearly ten years ago. She was a “late bloomer” to the sport, beginning in Nova’s regional program (formerly TCA), then moving up to premier teams for the next two seasons before committing to play Division I volleyball at Fairfield University.

At Fairfield, Coach Jamie won three MAAC Conference Championships and made three NCAA Division I Tournament appearances.

After college, Jamie’s passion for the game naturally led her into coaching. She began as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Manhattanville University while earning her master’s degree in Sports Marketing. After graduating in May 2022, she became the Director of Volleyball at Chelsea Piers Volleyball Club and continued her role as an assistant at Manhattanville for four more years. While coaching for the Valiants her teams won four consecutive Skyline Conference Championships and made 4 consecutive NCAA Div III tournament appearances.

During her time at Chelsea Piers, the club nearly doubled in size, growing from 11 to 19 teams. Five of those teams were ranked in the top 10 of the GEVA Region, with several medaling at both regional and national events, and qualifying for the USAV National Championships.

Jamie is excited to bring her experience and success as both a player and coach back home to Nova Volleyball. The sport has been a meaningful part of her life, and she is passionate about helping the next generation of athletes grow, build confidence, succeed, and continue loving the game.
